mBot robots in action at the CLAAS Greenhouse

On 19 March 2026, the CLAAS Greenhouse opened its doors for a special workshop: around 50 pupils and their teachers, who already work with the mBot in lessons and extracurricular clubs, were invited to deepen their knowledge and gain new inspiration. The participants were welcomed by Malte Schön (TBZ), Dr Sergej Stoetzer (Educational Trainer) and Sylvia Looks (CLAAS Foundation), who kicked off an inspiring day.

Afterwards, it was time to “try things out for yourselves!” The young tech enthusiasts and their teachers were able to programme the mBot2 independently, experiment and ask questions. The format was very well received by everyone – the pupils quickly switched to “trial mode” and showed great enthusiasm.

A special highlight: Sebastian Rauh, a teacher at Kamen Comprehensive School, gave the mBot a new “CLAAS outfit”. Using a laser cutter, he created a unique CLAAS outfit for the robot – a brilliant idea and impressive execution that sparked much amazement and enthusiasm.

The four  judges provided active support, answered questions, offered tips and guided the participants in an open and motivating manner. They prepared the pupils perfectly for the competition on 9 July, which will take place at the CLAAS site. Now everyone is fully prepared!

The workshop format made its debut and demonstrated just how much fun and learning potential robotics offers – even for experienced users. We look forward to further innovative events and thank everyone involved for their commitment!
