The tasks within the CLAAS Foundation are clearly distributed. All bodies the jury, the Board of Trustees and the Executive Board work hand in hand.

Jury - Helmut Claas-Scholarship

The jury of the CLAAS Foundation assesses the application for the Helmut Claas-Scholarship. It consists of international experts of the agricultural sector who specialize in various fields. This guarantees an objective and well-balanced evaluation.

  • Study of agricultural sciences at Humboldt-Universität of Berlin
  • Research scientist at Leibniz Institute for Agricultural Engineering and bioeconomy at Potsdam (2002-2014)
  • PhD (2002, „Investigation of mechanical stress on the udder at different milking systems" und Habilitation (2013, „"The development of the individual quarter milking and its effect on the process elements of animal, human, milking equipment and product quality"“) at HU of Berlin
  • Since 2014 Professor for agricultural machinery at University of Applied Sciences Neubrandenburg (process technology in animals and plants, Precision Farming, milking techniques)

  • 2008 PhD at TU Braunschweig: “Assistance system for the unloading process of a self-propelled forage harvester”
  • Engineer system development / construction hydraulics at HYDAC System GmbH and CNH Baumaschinen GmbH
  • since 2015 Head of Department “Engineering for Crop Production” at the Leibniz Institute for Agricultural Engineering and Bioeconomy (ATB) and Chair “Agromechatronics – sensor-based process control in Agriculture” at the TU Berlin (joint assignment)

Dr. Angela Werner

  • PhD in biophysical chemistry in Frankfurt am Main
  • Since 1996 working for agrarzeitung, since 2012 editor-in-chief
  • Main topics are crop protection and biotechnology as well as economic and political reporting of the companies and players involved
